Dis 'n Dat

Mitzi is still doing really well and she's become very vocal again which means she's feeling back to her old self! Starting tomorrow we cut her down to steroids once a day for 5 days.

I've been doing some buying and selling on ebay. I found a sugar bowl and creamer set that matches my china. Now I only need the serving platter and vegetable bowl and my set will be complete! If anybody is interested in what I have for sale, I'll be putting up a Dallas Cowboys leather jacket, another sugar bowl and creamer set, some books and some VHS tapes later this week. Everything else around here has been pretty quiet. David's 16th birthday is a week from today which has me a little bit depressed. He's just grown up so fast.

It's nothing...

Short of a miracle! I got up yesterday morning and Mitzi could walk! She's still wobbly ( a bit more today than yesterday but that's probably because her first dose of prednizone was injection) but she's walking and only barely dragging her feet. Dr. C said that less than 25% of cases as bad as Mitzi's respond to oral steroids and she's shocked that Mitzi is doing so well. I'm just thankful that she is. She's the sweetest dog and never met anybody that wasn't her best friend right away.

Once again.....

Just when I think it's smooth sailing somebody throws a monkey wrench into the mix. Mitzi's back is acting up again and this time it doesn't look like there's much hope. She can't move her back legs at all and had almost no response to stimuli. Dr . C has her on steroids, antibiotics and pain meds for 5 days. If there's no improvement we'll have to have her euthanized. There's just no possible way we can afford surgery and she's 12 years old so the odds wouldn't be good anyway.

As far as my own health is concerned, the doctor didn't find anything on the culture he took or in the exam he did. He now thinks it's all in my head. HMMPH!

Still messing!

I'm still messing with my blog skin. I had it the way I wanted it before I moved from blogspot but now I need to tweak it again. GRRR!
