    Uh why?

Why does it always rain when I'm trying to clean out my shrub and flower beds? On Tuesday when I was working on them it started raining and it did it again today. The forecast called for rain AFTER 8:00 tonight. Hmmmph!

I did get some grass seed planted, 2 beds cleaned out, some gladiolas and some tomatoes planted. I also got last year's leaves cleaned off the front steps. Now all that's left is one shrub bed, a ton of glad bulbs to plant, and I also bought foxglove, snapdragon, larkspur and hollyhock seeds. I have noooo idea where I'm gonna put them all.

I know it's a bit early to have planted the glads and the tomatoes but I'll cover them if we get a frost. I just want to get something done to the yard. It's been driving me crazy having all this nice weather and not being able to do anything but mow grass, which I'm going to have to again tomorrow by the way. I'll probably clean out the last shrub bed tomorrow too.

    Heard this on the news

I heard this on the news a couple of weeks ago and it's been on my mind ever since. There's a guy who wanted a house so he decided to get online and trade a paperclip for a house! Sounds crazy but it might actually work!

He started out by trading a red paperclip for a fish shaped pen (I have one of those!!!) and now in 9 months he's up to a year's free rent on a condo. Now what could I start with and where would I advertise it?

    I've finally decided!

I am on a mission! LOL I've been a fan of Chris Noth's for years and I've finally decided that I really want to meet him for several reasons. One of course is because I'm a fan, but another is because I was thinking about all the great actors that I've admired who've died, including Robert Urich, John Spencer and James Doohan. It makes me sad that I never got to tell them how much I admired them and their work. I figured if i can meet hockey players and musicians, why not an actor?

The only problem is, I have nooo idea what I'd talk to Chris about. He's intellegent(went to Yale!), sophisticated, and very cerebral. I'll probably make a huge ass of myself. Well it wouldn't be the first time!

    Yawn!

I need a nap and a bath! I just finished mowing the grass and cleaning out one of my shrub beds. I was going to do the other one too because it's easier (it only has mulch and leaves in it, the one I cleaned out had marble chips) but it started sprinkling so I decided it was a sign from above that I should quit :) .

While I'm here I thought I'd "wrap up" a few things from previous posts. The robin is still at it occasionally. He's sticking to one window though so hopefully he'll get bored soon! After Debs' warning about the cinnamon, I called my doc and he said that as long as I stick to just a half teaspoon or so, and stay away from the supplements I should be okay. Thanks Debs!

Scott still thinks he did nothing wrong and now every time he goes to do anything he gets sarcastic and asks "Is it okay if I do this?". Prick! I don't think he has any idea how close he is to finding himself in divorce court.

Oh and the Nasonex is working miracles! For the first time in a long long time, my nose isn't congested and the chest congestion is getting better every day too. Ah the wonders of modern medicine!

Well, I suppose I should sign off. I promised David I'd make spaghetti casserole tonight and I'm gonna have to hit the tub before that cause I stink like sweat and grass! Ewwww!

    Am I being too picky?

Several things have been bugging me so I decided to ask for opinions.

First of all, Scott. Last weekend, on Easter Sunday he decided to go fishing all day, instead of spending the day with his family. I've been angry with him all week and he says I'm overreacting and that he "needed" the time away.

Then yesterday, he had to work all day. He said he'd be home around 2:30 and then we'd go get groceries. Keep in mind that there was literally nothing in the house to eat. No meat, no milk, no bread. I don't drive and David won't get his license til this summer. He didn't get home until 5:30 and then went directly across the alley to Brittany's to help them dig up the backyard to put in a pool. He finally came home around 9:30 and expected me to be ready to go to the store. Again, when I got angry, I was overreacting.

The third thing bugging me has to do with Sabrina. The backyard at their house has absolutely no grass and every time I see her, she's covered in dirt. Is it too much to ask that Brittany gets her cleaned up once in a while so that she looks like a little girl instead of Pigpen from the Peanuts?

    Stuff!!!

Well the doc gave me a sample of Nasonex to try. He seems to think it'll do the trick. My glucose levels are better. After I started the meds 3 times a day, they came down a bit but then shot back up to the 170's. Late last week however I tried something on my own. I don't know that this did the trick, maybe it just took a while for the meds to kick in, but something made a dramatic difference. I found a link through the American Diabetes Association website that had an article about cinnamon. According to the article, adding a 1/4 teaspoon a couple of times a day to your meals can lower your blood sugar. In the past week mine has gone from the 170's to 109!

My hand is now completely better and my leg and foot are getting there. The numbness is completely gone but I'm still having some pain, especially if I'm on my feet for an extended period.

    What BS!

Scott and I both have year round allergies and we both need meds with a decongestant. Now due to a new federal law, we can only purchase one box of Drixoral per month, per household! We usually go through 6 boxes a month!

Scott talked to his doctor about it and he gave him a sample of Astelin to try. However it's simply and antihistamine, no decongestant. I'll see what Dr. F has to say on Wednesday but til then we're screwed. My nose and lungs were so congested last night I couldn't breathe and it's only getting worse.

    Help! :)

Okay I've got a problem. We've had a robin beating on our windows all morning and we can't get him to stop! He's going back and forth between my bedroom windows and the front door window. I chase him away from one and he goes to the other and he's driving the dogs and cats crazy. What do I do?

    Boy do I feel schtooopid!

I had a doctor's appointment yesterday and it was the first time I'd had a chance to talk to him about the numbness and pain I've been having in my left arm and leg. First of all my blood pressure was great, 120/88, but my glucose levels are still high. I'm now on diabeta 3 times a day instead of two and I go back in two weeks.

I've been having a tiny bit of tingling in my right extremities as well and he said that it probably was caused by the diabetes but should clear up once my glucose levels stabilize and at this pint wasn't anything to be too concerned about.

Now on to the left side. I explained that at times my hand was so numb and weak that I couldn't write or pick anything up and that my leg would get so bad that I felt like I was walking on a stump. He asked me if I'd done any strenous exercise or had injured myself and I said no. After all the excruciating pain and the worry, turns out I've got not one, but two, pinched nerves! One in my neck and one in my lower back. Odd that I would get two unrelated at almost the exact same time, but true none the less. The treatment is just to wait it out.

    I feel so schtoopid!

    Inheritance

I've done so much bitching the last couple of weeks, I thought I'd post a funny to lighten the mood!

When Dan found out he was going to inherit a fortune when his sickly father died, he decided he needed a woman to enjoy it with. So one evening he went to a singles bar where he spotted the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. Her natural beauty took his breath away. "I may look like just an ordinary man," he said as he walked up to her "but in just a week or two, myfather will die, and I'll inherit 20 million dollars." Impressed, the woman went home with him that evening and, three days later, she became his stepmother.

Women are so much smarter than men...
